Besides the number of beautiful natural sceneries, China has a very rich historical background. There are many signs and remainings of ancient history. There are number of world heritage sites in China. The people of the region have fertile minds. You can not restrict the intelligence to a specific time or era, ethnic group, colour and caste. It is the gift of God that has been in all times. Being a human being my mind stucks to the point that how the people of ancient era may have created such kind of masterpieces. Their intelligence level and their hardworking habits have made them immortal through their great work. Among such a great masterpieces from the history there is the statue of Leshan Buddha. It is referred as the largest carved Buddha in the world. In real sense it is the great human work.

When you visit this historical site, you find a mountain sized statue. You will be amazed that how the people at that time carved the cliff to make this giant statue. The construction of the statue was started in 713 A.D. Construction of the Buddha faced a funding hurdle. The construction work was stopped for about 70 years due to the funding problem.

Finally the construction was completed in 803 A.D. In the history the construction of such kind of statues just has the spiritual aspect. The purpose behind the construction of the Buddha is very logical. The view of the statue is that the river is flowing under the feet of the statue. The water of river was turbulent that was not allowing the ships to pass through. A monk at the time thought the construction of the Buddha. He was of the view that the construction of Buddha would calm the intensity of the waters and ships would be able to pass through the river easily. Surprisingly the main objective of the construction has been achieved. As we know that it was built by cutting and carving the cliff, this process threw a heavy number of stones into the river. These stones calmed the waters of the river and allowed the shipping vessels to pass.

It is situated in Sichuan province of China. When it was being constructed it was the tallest statue in the world. Now the Buddha is considered to be the largest carved statue in the world. The height of the Buddha is about 71 meters which is approximately 233 feet. It is about 28 meters wide which is approximately 92 feet. The statue has been constructed in sitting position. It seems like a king sitting in his chair with his hands resting on his knees. When you look towards the mountain which has been carved to construct the statue, it seems that the mountain is embosoming the Buddha. You can imagine the volume of the Buddha with the fact that its tiny toenail is so big that a person can easily be seated on it. The condition of Buddha is being deteriorated day by day. It has not given proper protection from pollution and other weather conditions. This heritage site must be protected.

PLACES TO SEE IN GUILIN.
Guilin has become a big tourist attraction with its wholesome beauty but there are some unusual things and places which make it different and unique in nature. Like, when you take a boat ride in the Li River, you will find bizarre mountains of amazing shape. This boat trip will be your most memorable trip as compared to any other trip around the world. There are Limestone Mountains and caves when you move ahead in the river. These are called Karsts. These Karsts present the unmatched scenery in the world. Among these karsts there is a hill with the name Elephant Trunk Hill. This hill seems jutted in the river. The amazing about the hill is that it looks like an elephant. There are wonderful caves in the area. One of these caves there is Reed Flute Cave. The cave is the most beautiful place to visit in Guilin. In this cave there is Crystal Palace for Dragon King. This beautiful location has been used to shoot a number of films. Another cave which is famous is named Seven Star Cave. Another place that has good fame is Fubo Hill. Formally it is called Fubo Hill Park. In the park you will find a great creative and inscriptive work. There are other numbers of very beautiful places like Seven Star Park, Yaoshan Hill Park, Solitary Beauty Peak and Moon & Sun Pagoda etc. When we move with the twist of the river there are strangely shaped mountains. These mountains are given names like Elephant Trunk Mountain, Old Man Mountain, Pagoda Mountain etc. there are number of rice fields. This beautiful place has a number of different kinds of trees like bamboos and conifers.

GEOGRAPHICAL FACTS
Guilin city is situated at the west bank of the Li River. The city of Guilin is surrounded by two rivers, Lijiang and Pearl River. There are four lakes in the city as well. The total population of the city is about 1.34 million. The meaning of Guilin is also interesting. It means “The Forest of Sweet Olives”.

CLIMATE
Guilin belongs to subtropical monsoon system. Guilin remains very cold in winter and very hot and humid in the summer. There are intensive rains in the summer.

EXCEPT SCENERY
Except the beautiful scenery of the Guilin, there are number of other things for which Guilin is known. For example in Guilin you can find jade in variety. You can buy different kind of souvenirs which are made of jade. Guilin is famous for its pepper and chilli sauce, different kinds of pickles and Guilin rice noodles.

ABOUT HUANGSHAN MOUNTAIN
LOCATION & GEOGRAPHY
Huangshan Mountain is named on the name of Huangshan city which is in Anhui province. It is basically in the southern area of the province. There are 72 peaks of the Mountain. Three peaks of among these are most famous. The height of these peaks is above 1800 meters. These peaks are namely, Lotus peak, Bright Summit peak and Tiandu peak. The area of the Mountain is about 154 sq.km.

Landscape of Huangshan Mountain is marvelous undoubtedly. Without any exaggeration we can say that it is one of the most famous mountain beauties of not only Asia but of the world. The mountain sight is astonished with the beautiful trees, singing birds flying there, a number of colourful flowers, sky touching peaks, pine trees, clouds of fog playing hide and seek, beautiful white stones. This all gives an artistic and romantic view to the Mountain. Sitting at the mountain you feel that it is the big painting masterpiece with all its colours. Colours are so beautifully painted that you don’t need to see anything after seeing this beautiful natural sculptor There are really amazing sights of the mountain. There is no change in the lifestyle of the people of Huangshan. The people here follow the customs and traditions of their old times. Although the conditions have evolved a little bit but it’s in its original form yet. People are of beautiful nature. In the city there is much architecture of ancient times which represent the culture of the area.
CLIMATE OF THE MOUNTAIN
The climate of the Huangshan Mountain remains changing throughout the year. The climate here belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate system, so it remains hot in summer and very cold in winter. In summer temperature remains about 27 degree Celsius while in winter it drops down to freezing minus 22 degree Celsius. The average temperature during the year remains about 8 degree Celsius. The mountain faces heavy rains due to subtropical monsoon climate.

ADVICE FOR TOURISTS
Mountain gets heavy snow and rain so the tourists’ have to follow the precautionary measures. Due to snow and rain it becomes very slippery there, so it is better to have shoes which can help in walk on snow and slippery conditions. Due to changing weather conditions, tourists must keep warm clothes, hats, gloves, walking sticks with them. If you plan to visit the mountain then be sure that it is going to be an unforgettable memory.
