In the day time traffic is allowed to pass through the street while in the night it is closed for traffic. Although the city is famous for the good eating habits of the people and whole city offers a variety of food but food street has distinction in all and unparalleled in taste and environment.

If you visit the place at night you will find the beautifully decorated buildings and a reflection of Asian culture. Shopping has attracted the people specially women. For shopping lovers, another attraction of the Gawalmandi area is Anarkali Bazar which is the one of the oldest surviving markets in South Asia. This market was established about 200 years back. It becomes easy to have a wonderful meal in Food Street after a tiring shopping.If you are in Lahore and you have not visited the Food Street then your visit is not justified.
